Web Conference Reflections for EDLD 5363 Multimedia and Video Technology

Reflection from Week 1 Web Conference.

Although this is my third class, I have never attended a live web conference. I have read the transcript and relied a lot on my IA for questions. I did not come with questions and that was a big mistake I will not make again. Many of the attendees had already looked over everything for week one and were prepared to ask specific questions. Even though I did not have any questions, I still learned a lot from the instructor but even more from my fellow classmates. I had a good idea of what the week ahead entailed and how assignments were to be completed. I was very confused regarding Creative Commons and the conference got me on the right track to understand the purpose and use of CC. Attending the web conference spared me from headaches during the week and the worry I was not completing them correctly. I will be attending many more web conferences in my future classes.

Reflection from Week 2 Web Conference.

For my second web conference for Multimedia and Video Technology , I came prepared with questions once I had familiarized myself with the upcoming weeks assignments. I was very confused on how to use Audacity and create my podcast since this was my first time doing a podcast and recording audio. I got some good sites to use but ultimately had to Google search some sites because of the type of computer I have.  I keep a notebook from each session and write down ideas or sites my classmates recommend so it is easy for me to lookup as needed. This conference did lead me to a Facebook page someone started for ED Teach Leadership students and I will be checking it frequently for any insight or help I may need. I learned from the web conferences the most important thing I am doing is working with my colleagues and getting ideas from them. I am building relationships with classmates and my instructor.  I found so many good tips and support from them that it really connects me to the class even though the program is completely online. Any web conference I can attend, I will be there!

Reflection for Week 3 Web Conference.

My last conference was the least beneficial. I think it was because I had attended the previous sessions and had a good idea of where my group was going. We have been in constant contact throughout the project and answered a lot of each others questions. I still find it important to check in each week in case there is a major change or for any issues I can help my fellow colleagues. What I have learned is the more I work with my fellow students the more I will learn.

Week 2 Lessons

I like how action research inquires were grouped into nine passion areas because it gave me specific areas to focus on when looking to write an inquiry. After reading all nine areas, I concluded that each school so have at least one team or person working on an inquiry questions in each one of these nine areas. No one area is better than the other and all of these sections require attention for a school to improve. You may even have more than inquiry in a section from various people or teams but it is important to cover all areas for the best results.
